DIY Chalkboard

DSC_0004

I found a cute little picture that I thought would make a great mini chalkboard. I didn't even take the back off. I just painted the frame with one coat of white paint and then painted 3 coats of chalkboard paint directly over the picture! Out of this world EASY! It's darling!

  7. Too funny! I just did the same thing last night with a round picture frame I found at a thrift store. I painted the frame red to go with my kitchen and the backing of the picture frame with chalkboard paint! Love it!

  17. Hi, I've just stumbled upon your great blog (already have it bookmarked). I just painted the back of an old mirror frame w/hot pink chalkboard paint that comes in a small jar from JoAnn's for my daughter's room. I used a sponge brush for the 1st coat and then a bristle brush for the 2nd. The problem is that I can see the brush strokes so no smooth finish. Did you use a roller brush to paint your frame?

  19. I just found your blog and love it. Such fun and great ideas. I blogged about this yesterday as my Tuesday's Tip, but you might like something called Chalk Ink. I found it at Michael's and it's great. So much better than chalk. Just thought you might like to know. www.kristalord.com
