Dining Table Inspiration
Check out the lamp shades...they have burlap trim. Can I have a belgian waffle, some fresh squeezed O.J. and a cafe au lait, please?
I could totally see my self out here entertaining...drinking a glass of sangria! Of course, my home is not on a vineyard and I don't have the funds to buy this gorgeous table. I.want.that.bench. {so if you have one, can I have it?}
However, I did find a look alike while thrifting and I'm going to add some white paint with a little distressing. Also, I'm going to paint the chairs to match, recover the seats with a gray damask velour-ish fabric. Trust me, it's really pretty. I'm thinking of just covering the lamp shades in burlap and making burlap no sew roman shades that I saw here. I don't know...any ideas? What do y'all think?
can't wait to see your finished project. my kitchen table is that honey color and no one in my family will let me paint it white how i want to.
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL! On my docket today is to sand and paint my chairs... Still looking for benches, BUT Knock off Wood has some plans- Ill bet you could buy some cheap porch posts for legs and have at it! Now- Im debating on whether or not to stain the top, or leave it white... Thansk for the inspiration. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThe fabric sounds beautiful. Do you need the blinds for privacy or will they pretty much stay up? I too have that color table and would love to paint it. Can't wait to see yours painted!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see that table painted! I really like the idea of roman shades there. I'm thinking of doing some no sew shades for our master bathroom windows.
ReplyDeleteOh and thanks so much for posting about that Blogmakeover giveaway from Sweet Faerie designs. If I didn't read your blog, I wouldn't have had the totally wonderful Carrie to thank for my new blog. So thanks :)
That is going to all look great! I can't wait to see it. I'd like for my hubby to make a new, bigger top for our table and I would finish it like those.

Sounds perfect!!! At what thrift stores do you find your items?
ReplyDeleteI bought some burlap colored twine in the dollar section at Target and wrapped my white lampshade with it . It looks great and took 10 minutes and no sewing or gluing.

Sounds like a really good idea. The hubby and I saw a picture of a dining room where the head chairs were arm chairs and one side had a settee couch! We want that one day. We never used our dining room as a kid so I would love to have something that is comfy and cozy for eating and socializing. I really like that bench idea. Keep looking around for one. I think it would look great.
ReplyDeleteI think that table will be perfect painted white. I love your bay window and hardwood floors. Can't wait to see it finished!
ReplyDeleteAnita,
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't need the privacy...I just wanted a little something up there. The windows look kinda naked!
country lover,
ReplyDeletei'm in Raleigh, NC...so I hit Good will, Cause for Paws, Guardian Angel Thrift in Fuquay, Salvation Army Family Thrift and everything in between. Are you local?
East Coast Suburbanite,
ReplyDeletei.love.carrie. she rocks the casbah!
I can't wait to see your painted table - it will look so great with your chairs! I would totally make some burlap shades! xx
ReplyDeleteI can visual it all! I love the burlap on the shades! Your space will look wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI teach at a university and my desk is very similar to that table. Most universities are getting rid of those and going to more ugly plastic stuff. My university sells it... you could totally cash in on some beautiful solid oak office furniture.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds lovely! That table is going to be just perfect, and just like your inspiration, after you chase it down with some paint and sandpaper.
ReplyDeletethats gonna be awesome.cant wait to see pics
ReplyDeletePainting it using dark colors paint will make it more elegant.
ReplyDeleteI love your chandelier. It's just simple yet elegant. As a house owner, I always make it to a point to check the screws and other parts of the chandelier to ensure it's stillness.
