Slipcover a chair in a day

I remember reading this post by Nester...so I emailed her to beg if I could help her make a slipcover. We met a few years back...before blogging, so I wasn't just some stranger asking to come into her home. I'm no professional seamstress, but I pretend to be. It's nothing permanent like pouring concrete or anything. It's a small investment and a little time for a grand result!

She said yes, and had me into her lovely home. Her friend Tiny Twig also brought a chair over...so we got to slipcovering...sustaining ourselves on Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and coffee.

Here are a few pics from the weekend...head over to Nester's and Tiny Twig's to see the finished chairs. They both did a fantastic job! Gorgeous Transformations!

  1. I so wish I lived close enough to have you help me on a slipcover! I'm reupholstering a chair right now and then I'm gonna slipcover it in the cotton duck and follow your tutorial...hopefully it'll turn out ok! Thanks for all the inspiration!!

  2. Hi, found you on the Nester's blog and became a follower here. I love slipcovers too. I used to make blue denim but have changed to white. I'm not a seamstress either, but give it my best shot. I hope to stop by for the linky party.

P.S.--you're darling and I had such a fun time with you, thanks for letting me leech off of your incredible slipcover knowledge.

  4. I also found you through the Nester's blog. I am thoroughly enjoying your beautiful blog. Now, I just wish that you lived close to me so that you could help me with some ugly floral sofas that desperately need covering. I have zero skills in the sewing dept. I would kill for that!

  10. Okay, I need a friend like you. I have two wing back chairs, 16 yards of material and plenty of wine. You are awesome!! Great job on the slipcover! I can do this...I am just a nervous wreck because I am a perfectionist when it comes to sewing!!

I started working on my slipcover and it turned into slipcovering some pillows for the spring would that count??
