I also did a little re-vamping of this corner. I'm selling furniture and keeping furniture and painting furniture AND need to slipcover furniture.
I got this for free, because the thrift store was having a buy one get one free sale. I love the frame and I just painted three coats of chalkboard paint over the top of the picture and it looks fabulous! I always look for great frames...even if the picture is ugly. Go forth and paint!

Love it and where you hung it is perfect!
ReplyDeleteLove that! I need to make me a chalk board for my house... hey, are you selling any dressers?
ReplyDeleteGreat find! And your corner looks so inviting. Happy Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteI tried painting over the picture once, even used primer, but the paint chipped off. I love this. I have some chalkboard projects posted right now.
ReplyDeleteI am always looking in the ugly picture section of the thrift store, but I had not thought of this yet. I paint over them to make new paintings but this is so much easier!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job...it's gorgeous now!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day!
~Michelle :)
FAbulous idea!! Love how simple!
ReplyDeleteI love chalkboards and your corner looks so cozy (;
ReplyDeleteI love this idea and I tried it once before on my own and found that the chalkboard wasn't all that functional because of the ridges on the canvas of the painting. Is there something I can do to make it more 'usable'?
ReplyDeleteNicki,
ReplyDeleteI've switched to chalkboard markers! They're fantastic!
I love the frame! Your chalkboard looks perfect in your living room. Thanks so much for linking up!
ReplyDeleteI love the detail on that frame and I could see it moving all around your house through the years-just guessing but I think you and I have the same "condition", we love change, am I right?
ReplyDeleteYou could also paint the frame if you got tired of the look or wanted it to coordinate with another space.
What a great idea...that corner looks so great. Where are the chairs from??
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THIS IDEA!
ReplyDeleteHi! I love this project - I hope you don't mind, but I've reblogged this (with full credit given):
